The Process

1. Explore & Get Inspired

Creating a commissioned painting is much simpler than many people imagine.

Take a look through my website and notice which paintings you naturally connect with. Don’t overthink it, simply pay attention to the scenes, colours, or feelings that make you stop and feel something.

That’s usually a good sign we’re on the right track.

2. Get in Touch

Send me a message using the contact form below or email me directly at hello@fionamckenna.com

You might already have a specific place in mind, or perhaps it’s simply a feeling, atmosphere, or colour palette you’re drawn to. We’ll chat through your ideas, preferred size, style, and where the painting will hang so the finished piece feels completely at home in your space.

If you’d prefer to talk things through over the phone, I’m always happy to arrange a call.

3. Receive Your Quote

Once we’ve discussed your ideas, I’ll provide a quote based on the size and detail of the piece. A 50% deposit secures your commission and allows work to begin.

4. Watch Your Painting Come to Life

This is one of my favourite parts of the process. As your painting develops, I’ll share progress photos so you can feel involved along the way.

If you’d like, I can also arrange framing so your artwork arrives ready to hang and enjoy.
